It is technically known as IEEE 802.15. Traditional desktop computers, which do not have Bluetooth technology built-in, can also enjoy the benefit of Bluetooth connection by connecting an additional USB Bluetooth adapter to that desktop computer. The network that is created through Bluetooth technology is called Piconet. When two adjacent piconets are connected by a common slave node, these two piconets together are called scaternet.
